SALT LAKE CITY – Playoff season has arrived in the NFL and there are eight Utah ties to NFL clubs playing in the postseason.

Four of the six games during Super Wild Card Weekend will feature at least one former Ute, including a meeting of former teammates Cody Barton and Mitch Wishnowsky, now with Seattle and San Francisco, respectively. Saturday’s action will wrap up with Devin Lloyd’s Jaguars hosting the LA Chargers at TIAA Bank Field.

Then on Sunday, Eric Rowe and the Miami Dolphins will be up in Orchard Park, New York, to take on the Buffalo Bills. In the nightcap, the Baltimore Ravens will take on Cincinnati aided by Tyler Huntley and Marcus Williams.

Two more Utah connections are in the postseason but are idle this weekend with a first-round bye. Britain Covey’s Philadelphia Eagles own the NFC’s top seed and homefield advantage through the playoffs; the Kansas City Chiefs are also through to the AFC Divisional Round with Alex Whittingham on staff as defensive quality control coach.
