In a surprising move, Nebraska Cornhuskers wide receiver Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda has withdrawn from the transfer portal, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz.
Garcia-Castaneda began his college career at Saddleback College. He transferred to New Mexico State, where he played two seasons. In 2021, he had 37 receptions for 578 yards and four touchdowns for the Aggies.
Following the season, he transferred to Nebraska. He had a strong debut with four receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown in their season opener against Northwestern. However, he cut his season short, entering the transfer portal in early October.
Garcia-Castaneda’s return is a big boost for the Cornhuskers, who have assembled a talented wide receiver group that includes Alante Brown, Marcus Washington, Malachi Coleman, Jaidyn Doss and Billy Kemp IV.
