Former CU Buffs assistant Gerald Chatman reportedly returning to LSU

Former CU Buffs assistant Gerald Chatman reportedly returning to LSU

The Colorado Buffaloes coaching staff has undergone a ton of changes since Deion Sanders was hired.

Willie Taggart and Mike Zimmer might be on their way soon, and the roster and coaching staff are loaded from top to bottom.

One coach who was on the staff last year, Gerald Chatman, is going back to LSU to be a defensive analyst, according to Matt Zenitz of On3. Chatman spent just one year in Boulder.

After beginning the 2022 season as CU’s defensive line coach, Chatman took on the role of interim defensive coordinator when Chris Wilson was dismissed.

Chatman was also named as a rising assistant by On3 last offseason, and now he heads back to LSU to work with Brian Kelly.

Chatman spent the 2021 season at Tulane after Kelly decided not to retain him on the LSU staff. Now, Chatman returns to Baton Rouge and will work in the same role as he did under former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron.

Sanders has hired former Alabama assistant Charles Kelly as the team’s new DC and Nick Williams was named CU’s defensive ends coach.
