Arkansas has reloaded.
Much of the panic around the Arkansas football program this offseason centered on how many players the Razorbacks lost to the transfer portal.
But that was the wrong way to look at things.
What Arkansas gained via the transfer portal in quality should outpace what it lost in quantity.
On Wednesday, National Signing Day, five transfers and the Natural State’s top high school player all signed with the Razorbacks. Their additions allow coach Sam Pittman to refill his wide receiving corps, provide better bodies in the secondary and perhaps help turn tight end back into a position of power, much like it was last decade.

Easter was the first commit to Arkansas’ Class of 2023, but the last of the rising freshmen to sign. A four-star player from Ashdown, he is one of the jewels of the class.

Lorando Johnson is one of two players from Baylor’s defensive backfield to sign with Arkansas out of the transfer portal. A rising junior, the man called Snaxx had 16 tackles and five pass break-ups for the Bears last year.
