There may be no more underrated player from the 2022 Iowa Hawkeyes than safety and leader of the secondary, Kaevon Merriweather. The veteran leader of the defense commanded a secondary that was arguably the best in the entire nation at taking the ball away when it left the opposing quarterback’s hands.
Merriweather was a mainstay in the defensive secondary the last few years for Phil Parker’s nationally recognized defense and did more than his fair share. He contributed 118 total tackles, 12 pass deflections, and recorded four interceptions. Merriweather can play the run or the pass and is going to make an NFL team very happy.
He has been down at the Senior Bowl this week in front of NFL scouts from all 32 teams and his performance has taken on a life of its own via social media. Here are some of the best tweets regarding Merriweather’s efforts of improving his draft stock.
