Jalen Hurts finishes third in NFL Offensive Player of the Year voting

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was not named the AP’s NFL Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday, and that’ll likely play a role in the MVP voting as well.

Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson received 35 first-place votes and finished ahead of Patrick Mahomes (10) and Jalen Hurts (3) for the prestigious award.

Jefferson won the award after finishing 16 yards shy of Randy Moss’ Vikings single-season receiving record of 1,632.

On the season, Jefferson caught 128 passes for 1,809 yards (sixth-most in league history) and eight touchdowns in 2022.

Hurts is also up for the MVP award after leading the Eagles to a 14-1 record (.933 winning percentage) as a starter, completing 306-of-460 (66.5%) attempts for 3,701 yards (8.0 avg.), 22 TDs, 6 INTs, and 101.6 passer rating, while also rushing for 760 yards and 13 TDs. In total, Hurts combined for 4,461 yards and 35 TDs.
