The Nebraska Cornhuskers are already working hard on the recruiting class of 2024. They offered not one but two 4-star prospects over the weekend to add to next yearβs recruiting class.
Jaylen McClain is a defensive back out of West Orange, New Jersey. Scouting reports suggest that McClain could play safety or cornerback.
Heβs also an accomplished sprinter with a time of 11.06 in the 100m. McClain recorded 83 tackles last year as well. He did have an offer under previous head coach Scott Frost but tweeted about this most recent offer over the weekend.
The Cornhuskers also offered Roger Gradney, a 4-star athlete, out of Altair, Texas. Gradneyβs success is not just limited to the football field as he, too is an accomplished sprinter, having qualified for the Texas Track & Field State Championship.
His speed has also been an asset on the football field, as he has six kick/punt returns for a touchdown. Matt Rhule and staff have made speed a recruiting priority early on, and these two recent offers show that isnβt expected to change anytime soon.
