Davis Allen’s 2023 combine results

Davis Allen’s 2023 combine results

Former Clemson tight end Davis Allen participated in the 2023 NFL combine Saturday, putting together a solid performance that should see his stock rise come draft day.

Allen is one of Clemson’s most interesting prospects in the 2023 class, a big-bodied tight end who has a knack for getting open. Though there have been mixed feelings from NFL scouts and analysts about the young tight end, one of the best in the business Daniel Jeremiah shared high praise for Allen, calling him, “he’s a smooth, easy mover.” According to Jeremiah himself, he is higher on Allen than some of his colleagues.

However, this may not be the case, as Allen was impressive Saturday at the combine. Here is a look at the full results from his 2023 combine performance.

Official time: 4.83 seconds

The 40 could hurt Allen a little and was by far his weakest number at the combine. He finished second to last here, but that isn’t a death sentence for a tight end. This time isn’t a huge deal for a tight end though as Allen has many other tools that make him a great prospect. Speed kills, but it isn’t the end all be all.

Official time: 1.6 seconds

A 1.6 is an excellent split number for a tight end, even if it left Allen in the middle of the pack here. This split puts him just below some of the wide receivers at the combine.
