Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (11)
Day 1 – Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State: I’m not sure there’s another receiver who truly fits in the first round for the Packers. Smith-Njigba could be the perfect slot complement to Christian Watson, giving Jordan Love another dynamic weapon that can attack the short to intermediate areas of the field while Watson’s speed threatens everyone deep. He has 100-catch potential as an Amon-Ra St. Brown type player.
Day 2 – Rashee Rice, SMU/Jonathan Mingo, Ole Miss: Rice and Mingo check all the boxes. While Rice might be the more polished receiver prospect, Mingo’s upside is huge. Both could help replace some of what Allen Lazard provided in Matt LaFleur’s scheme. Wake Forest’s A.T. Perry is another terrific Day 2 fit, a sweet spot for the Packers and wide receivers.
Day 3 – Dontayvion Wicks, Virginia: His combination of production in 2021 (1,203 yards, nine touchdowns), size (6-1, 206) and athleticism (9.17 RAS) give him intriguing potential as a pick in the fourth round or later. Also, Grant DuBose of Charlotte checks a lot of boxes for the Packers and should be available well into Day 3.
