The Eagles on Thursday added to the defense on night one of the 2023 NFL Draft, selecting Georgia DT Jalen Carter with the ninth overall pick after trading with Chicago to move from pick 10 to pick 9, and then the Eagles stayed at No. 30 overall and picked up Georgia outside linebacker Nolan Smith to complete an impact first night.
