DURHAM – Former Duke long snapper Evan Deckers has agreed to terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to join the NFL organization as an undrafted free agent.
Deckers joined the Blue Devil program for one season after a successful four-year career at Massachusetts. In 53 career games, all starts, he helped kickers convert 44-of-60 field goals and 154-of-158 PATs. Deckers also assisted the punting units on 272 punts for 11,274 yards (41.45), including 73 punts downed inside the 20.

A native of Avon, Conn., Deckers started all 13 games during his lone season in Durham and helped the Duke kickers convert on 17-of-24 field goals and 52-of-52 PAT attempts. In addition, he assisted punter Porter Wilson on 46 punts for 1,984 yards (43.13), including 16 punts downed inside the 20.
Deckers graduated from Massachusetts in December 2021 with a degree in kinesiology. He is set to graduate from Duke’s prestigious Fuqua School of Business in May 2023, with a master’s degree in management studies.
