Titans QB Ryan Tannehill Focused On Himself, and Getting the Team Better

But after stepping off the practice field on Wednesday, Tannehill said one constant remains.

“My job is to get ready to go win football games,” Tannehill said. “And that’s what I am going to do each and every single day.”

Tannehill, set to begin his 12th NFL season and his fourth with the team, watched the team pick another quarterback in the NFL Draft – Kentucky’s Will Levis, in the second round.

This time last year, Tannehill answered questions about the team picking Liberty’s Malik Willis in the draft.

Tannehill said he hasn’t spent a lot of time wondering about those decisions.

“You can only control what you control, right?,” Tannehill said. “Mike (Vrabel) and Ran (Carthon) make those decisions, and as players you have to control what you control, and that is doing the best you can, prepping yourself mentally and physically each and every day to go win football games.

“Hopefully (Will) adds to the room. Obviously, (he’s) a talented guy, coming off a great college career. So, we’ll see when I get to meet him (next week).”

With a smile, Tannehill conceded “we’ve been down this road before.”

“It’s definitely a little bit of déjà vu,” Tannehill said of the team picking another QB. “But, like I said, Mike and Ran make those decisions and my job is to go out there and try and win football games.

“My process doesn’t really change. I like to believe that I am giving my all every time I go out there and prep, whether it’s in an OTA or Week 15, getting ready to go win a game. You want to have a process about how you go about things, take your job seriously every day, knowing that nothing is given to you, and you have to go out there and earn everything.”
