Michigan football picked to face Georgia in latest CFP projection

How receivers separate in fall camp

Michigan football’s stock is high, perhaps the highest it’s been in a long time and for good reason.

The Wolverines have won the Big Ten in back-to-back seasons while dismantling rival Ohio State in both seasons. The maize and blue have gone to the College Football Playoff in two straight seasons, but Michigan hasn’t found a way to win in the playoff yet.

More projections than not have Michigan going back to the playoffs, but a bunch of 2023 bowl projections have both the Buckeyes and Wolverines in the playoffs. Brett McMurphy with the Action Network does not have that scenario.

McMurphy is extremely high on Michigan and he projects a different playoff than most.

He has Michigan facing Florida State in the Rose Bowl, one of the semifinal games. McMurphy believes if the game took place now, the Wolverines would be a 5.5-point favorite over the Seminoles. In the other semifinal game, he has Georgia playing Washington with the Bulldogs favored by six points.

Then onto the national title game. McMurphy has Georgia taking on Michigan in a rematch of the semifinal two years ago. He believes UGA would be favored by 1.5-points over the Wolverines.

McMurphy has Ohio State taking on Clemson in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
