New Jersey Generals Re-Sign All-USFL CB D.J. Daniel For 2024

XFL is in talks with Fox and ESPN

The New Jersey Generals secured a vital piece to their defense, with D.J. Daniel officially re-signing for the 2024 USFL season.

D.J. Daniel might have been the most improved player in the USFL from year one to two. In the 2022 season, Daniel didn’t register any statistics.

2023 was an entirely different story for D.J. He ended up earning All-USFL honors, starting in all ten games for New Jersey. Despite the Generals struggling throughout the season, D.J. was as consistent as could be for a defense that played quite well.

D.J. Daniel finished the USFL season with 30 tackles, three interceptions, and six passes defensed. He was, without a doubt, one of the top defenders in the league, taking on some of the toughest assignments for New Jersey week in and week out.

Now, D.J. Daniel is officially off the USFL free agency market, re-signing to the Generals. While a couple of other organizations reportedly showed interest, D.J. ultimately decided to return to the team that he saw a lot of success with in 2023.

General Manager Billy Devaney has been busy in USFL free agency. The Generals were the first team to make a move during this free agency period, signing WR Joe Walker, DL Ethan Westbrooks, and S Antonio Reed.
