Another day, another USFL free agency move for the Michigan Panthers. WR Garett Maag has signed with the team, bringing some depth to a room that is in desperate need of it.
The @USFLPanthers aren’t done, and they’re filling a position of need in WR. The Panthers have signed former North Dakota WR Garett Maag.
He was most recently with the Vikings.

Garett Maag joins the Michigan Panthers after a stint with the Minnesota Vikings in training camp this past offseason. While he didn’t stick with the team, Maag is clearly a talented wideout who has high upside, especially in a league like the USFL.
Garett played his college football at North Dakota, where he was exceptional. Throughout his five year career there, he caught 164 passes for 2,205 yards, posting 19 receiving touchdowns along the way. He played in 50 total games, making 40 starts.
Maag’s senior season in particular was impressive, where he registered 540 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Following his time with the Vikings, Garett Maag will now look to kickstart his professional playing career in the USFL, with the Michigan Panthers. The Panthers are a great team to sign with, as they sent wide receivers Trey Quinn and Kaden Davis to the NFL this past season.
Final Thoughts
GM Steve Kazor has been relatively quiet so far in USFL free agency, but broke the silence yesterday, signing Edge D’Anthony Jones.
With the USFL-XFL merger on the horizon, Michigan’s roster now sits at 48 players.
