Philadelphia Stars Sign USFL College Draft Pick DT Trey Botts

Birmingham Stallions Searching For Response Against Pittsburgh

The Philadelphia Stars have finally signed one of their USFL College Draft picks. DT Trey Botts officially joins the team for the 2024 season, being the first draft pick to sign with Philadelphia.

Trey Botts is a solid pickup for Philadelphia, as the team is looking to bolster their defensive line. DT Chris Nelson doesn’t appear to be returning, so the addition of Botts is much needed.

Botts played his collegiate ball at Colorado State-Pueblo, where he saw action for four years. With each and every year he continued to get better, playing a larger role for the team as he got older. In 2021, Trey posted 55 tackles and two sacks in what was a dominant year.

Then, in 2022, he won Defensive Player of the Year in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Botts was outstanding, finishing the year with 66 tackles and 5.5 sacks. His impressive performance garnered NFL interest, and rightfully so.
