WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Arizona Football kicker Tyler Loop has been named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award, as announced today by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
 
Tyler Loop has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award, which honors the nation’s best kicker. Loop earned this honor for the first time in his collegiate career. He joins a group of kickers that are mostly new with only six of the 20 names making a return appearance on the list.
 
The junior from Lucas, Texas, has made 13-of-15 field goal attempts this season for an 86.7 field goal percentage. Loop booted a career-long 51-yard field goal against No. 11 Oregon State and a 40-yarder at No. 19 Washington State.
 
Loop is a perfect 11-for-11 from inside 39 yards this season to move to 35-for-35 for his collegiate career from inside 39 yards. He has made 32-of-32 extra-point attempts this season and 82-of-82 PATs for his career.   
 
For his career, Loop is 43-for-48 on field goal attempts boasting an 89.58 field goal percentage. He’s two field goal attempts shy of sitting atop the active player list in career-field goal percentage with a minimum of 50 attempts being the threshold.
 
Currently, Loop is tied for 27th in the nation and fourth in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage. He is second in the Pac-12 in field goals made (13).
