Milroe Named Semifinalist for O’Brien Award


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Jalen Milroe was named a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Milroe is one of 20 semifinalists for the O’Brien which is presented annually to the nation’s top quarterback. Finalists will be announced on Nov. 28 with the 2023 winner of the O’Brien being named on Dec. 8 on ESPN as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards.

Alabama has had two Davey O’Brien Award winners, first with Mac Jones in 2020 followed by Bryce Young a year later.

Jalen Milroe

  • A threat with both his arm and legs every time he touches the ball
  • Owns a 65.2 completion percentage on 129-of-198 passing
  • Totaled 2,070 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to six interceptions through the air
  • Also accumulated 333 yards and 12 touchdowns on 105 carries
