Jared Goff was back in Los Angeles when Detroit returned to action after a bye week and helped lead the Lions to a 41-38 victory over fellow former Golden Bear Keenan Allen and the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium. Goff, who played his first five NFL seasons in Los Angeles with the Rams before being traded to Detroit in 2021, has led the Lions to a 7-2 start in his eighth NFL campaign in 2023. Goff ranks as high as fifth in the NFL on the season in passing yards (2507) and completions, while Allen shares the league lead with 73 receptions through Week 10.

Goff and Allen are two of 24 former players currently affiliated with NFL teams including 11 on active rosters, eight on coaching staffs, four on injured reserve lists and one on a practice squad.

Keenan Allen – WR (Los Angeles Chargers, 4-5, No. 12 AFC Playoff Seed, 3rd-T AFC West)

– Posted 11 receptions, 175 yards receiving and his second two-touchdown game of the campaign including a 38-yarder that tied the game with 3:42 to go in an eventual 41-38 Week 10 home loss to Detroit

– Became the 54th player in NFL history to surpass 10,000 career receiving yards (also one of six active players) in the fourth quarter of a 27-6 Week 9 road win over the New York Jets and finished with a game-high eight receptions for a team-high 77 yards

– Tied for first in the NFL with 73 receptions and four in yards receiving with 895 through Week 11

Week 11 (Sunday, Nov. 19, 10 am PT, FOX): at Green Bay (3-6)

 

Bryan Anger – P (Dallas, 6-3, No. 6 NFC Playoff Seed, 2nd NFC East)

– Punted twice for 93 yards (46.5 avg, 46.5 net) with both punts inside the 20 in a 49-17 Week 10 home win over the New York Giants

– Second in the NFL in net punting average (44.8) and sixth in yards per punt (49.8) with both career bests

Week 11 (Sunday, Nov. 19, 10 am PT, FOX): at Carolina (1-8)

 

Chris Brooks – RB (Miami, 6-3, No. 4 AFC Playoff Seed, 1st AFC East) … Injured Reserve

– Had a Week 10 bye

– Played in each of the first six games off the bench and on special teams before being injured in a 42-21 home win over Carolina in Game 6 and was placed on injured reserve five day[DC1] s later
