GREEN BAY – In a wild game Sunday at Lambeau Field, the Packers hung on in the waning moments for a 23-20 victory.
The Packers, now 4-6, took the lead on a 24-yard TD pass to WR Romeo Doubs with 2:33 left, QB Jordan Love’s second TD pass of the game.
Green Bay’s defense then needed two stops to win it, getting the first with the help of a third-down sack by LB Rashan Gary. But the Packers went three-and-out on offense, with the Chargers using all three of their timeouts to get one more possession.
QB Justin Herbert’s deep shot for WR Quentin Johnston that would’ve at least put the Chargers in field-goal range was dropped, one of several key drops by LA pass catchers in the game. LA also blew a scoring chance due to a fumble by RB Austin Ekeler inside the 5-yard line earlier in the fourth quarter.
The Packers eventually got the turnover on downs, as DL Kenny Clark batted Herbert’s fourth-and-1 pass with 23 seconds left.
Green Bay squandered several scoring chances of its own, but Love finished 27-of-40 for 322 yards with the two TDs and a 108.5 passer rating. It was Love’s first career 300-yard passing game and Green Bay’s first since Aaron Rodgers vs. the Bears in December of 2021.
