Once the Washington Commanders lost to the New York Giants on Sunday, the focus immediately turned to Week 12 and the Dallas Cowboys. However, it wasn’t the typical turnaround, as Washington and Dallas were scheduled for a Thanksgiving Day showdown.
Due to the Commanders’ recent struggles and the Cowboys’ success, no team opened as a bigger Week 12 underdog than Washington. BetMGM listed the Commanders as 11-point underdogs to Dallas.
Often, as the game gets closer, the point spread can sometimes grow or decrease, depending on any late injury news. Wednesday’s final injury report listed no out for the Cowboys, but the Commanders were without three players, including rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes.
Did that impact the final betting lines?
Something did, as Dallas entered Thursday as 13.5-point favorites over Washington. That’s a massive jump that had nothing to do with Washington’s injuries. Clearly, there is little faith in the Commanders heading into Week 12.
Here are the final betting lines for Thursday’s NFC East battle between the Commanders and Cowboys:
Moneyline (ML)
- Commanders +600
- Cowboys -900
Against the spread (ATS)
- Commanders +13.5 (-110)
- Cowboys -13.5 (-110)
Over/Under (O/U)
