Staff makes Week 12 predictions

The Los Angeles Chargers kick off Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 5:20 p.m. PT.

Who is going to come out victorious?

Here is a look at the predictions from each of our writers at Chargers Wire:

Gavino:

You would think that with how much heat Brandon Staley faced this past week, it would fire him up and he would put together a masterful defensive gameplan. However, I just can’t see that happening. One, the Ravens just have a prolific offense that’s hard to slow down and two, Staley has yet to make any adjustments up to this point in the season. I’m expecting a primetime Justin Herbert masterclass and the defense to let him down, making it difficult to keep pace.

Ravens 31, Chargers 27

Alex K:

The Ravens have scored more than 30 points in their last five games, a trend that seems likely to continue with a weak Chargers defense in front of them on Sunday night. Expect a game similar to the Lions contest – Justin Herbert and the offense keep things close with a good performance but come up short as Baltimore outpaces them.

Ravens 34, Chargers 31

However, the rest of the deficiencies on this team just feel like too much to try to make up against the class of the AFC. The Ravens are hot with an explosive offense. Lamar Jackson is playing at an MVP level and they’re built to survive the Mark Andrews injury. Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers can still give the Chargers nightmares, unlike Baltimore’s receiver group in previous years.

I don’t think this gets into blowout territory, but a Joey Bosa-less defense with an imploded secondary just doesn’t seem like it’ll be enough to beat Baltimore. The offense will likely get some positive regression in offensive line play and the receiver drops, but this Ravens offense feels multiple steps about what LA is capable of dealing with right now.

Ravens 36, Chargers 30

Valentina:

The Chargers take on the leading team in the AFC North this week. With an electric offense led by Lamar Jackson, Baltimore is coming off a 34-20 win against the Bengals. Los Angeles has struggled to win most of their games but they usually can compete with quality teams. With the Bolts losing to the Packers last week, it only makes sense that they will give the Ravens a run for…
