The band is getting back together. After losing 16 players to the NFL this offseason, the Birmingham Stallions have re-signed most of those players. Last week, they added another piece in wide receiver/tight end hybrid La’Michael Pettway.

Michigan Panthers
Pettway began his USFL career in Michigan. In 2022 he was one of the Panther’s top receiving targets, catching 24 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. The Stallions were able to steal him away from the Panthers in 2023.
BHAM signs WR/TE La’Michael Pettway (6’2, 220). Pettway was a top target w/ MICH last year & finished w/ 24 rec for 307 yds & 2 TDs. I was impressed w/ him last year from week 1 when he pulled in a Hail Mary that was 1 foot away from winning MICH the game. https://t.co/ejPZaupFwW https://t.co/dIKrmtOYnM

Birmingham Stallions
Pettway joined the Stallions a week into the 2023 season. Despite a crowded receiving room, Pettway found his way onto the field throughout the year, playing in seven games during the regular season. Over those seven games, Pettway caught eight passes for 99 yards. He was a great red zone target for Alex McGough, as two of his eight catches (25%) were red zone touchdowns.

His biggest play came during week eight of the regular season. Trailing 24-20 with three minutes to go in the fourth, MVP quarterback Alex McGough marched the Birmingham Stallions down the field. With 0:32 left on the clock, McGough dropped back and found Pettway in the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown. Protective Stadium erupted as Pettway made a name for himself in Birmingham.
