BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore was selected to the 2023 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
The SEC names a Community Service Team for its 21-league sponsored sports, looking to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.

- A consistent contributor in the Tuscaloosa community and across the state of Alabama
- Has accumulated 20-plus hours of community service in the Fall of ’23 alone
- Partnered with the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation’s “Reading Allies” Program to work each week with assigned students on improving their reading and writing
- Mentored and raised money for Ford Bertram of Trussville, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
- Also worked with and mentored Henrietta Murray, who is blind and was diagnosed with mitochondria disease, making monetary contributions for her medical trips around the country
- Helped with local city schools to promote Read Across America and Red Ribbon Week during his four years
- Participated in numerous Habitat for Humanity builds across his time with the Tide
