Fashanu, Robinson Collect All-American Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State offensive tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu was selected a first-team All-American by the Associated Press and a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Monday, while defensive end Chop Robinson was a third-team selection by the Associated Press.
 
Fashanu picked up his second and third All-American honors for the 2023 season. He was tabbed a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation on Friday.
 
Robinson garnered his first career All-American honor.
 
On Friday, Fashanu became Penn State’s 102^nd first-team All-American in school history and its first, first-team selection since linebacker Micah Parsons in 2019. He is Penn State’s 15^th All-American selection in the James Franklin era.
 
Fashanu is Penn State’s first offensive lineman to earn multiple first-team All-American nods from NCAA-recognized outlets since A.Q. Shipley (FWAA, Walter Camp) in 2008.
 
This marks the eighth time, in the Franklin era, a Nittany Lion has received All-America recognition from multiple NCAA-recognized outlets (Associated Press, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, Walter Camp) in a season. Fashanu joins Joey Porter Jr. (2022), Jaquan Brisker (2021), Jordan Stout (2021), Micah Parsons (2019, consensus), Saquon Barkley (2017, consensus/2016), and Carl Nassib (2015, consensus).
 
Robinson joins Arnold Ebiketie (second team, 2021) and Carl Nassib (first team, 2015) as Nittany Lion defensive ends to collect All-American accolades under Franklin.
