Alex Matheson has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Rams practice squad. Matheson came into the XFL in 2023 with the St. Louis Battlehawks, and ended up starting throughout the season for the team.
Following his XFL campaign, Alex had a tryout with the Baltimore Ravens in the summer. Now, Alex has been brought into the Los Angeles Rams camp, to provide some depth at the position. According to Rams Digest, this move has been made because of inconsistent long-snapping:
“Sean McVay still has faith in his kicker, and instead has been looking at the process as a whole, rather than just placing the blame on Havrisik alone…With that in mind, the Rams made a change to that operation, signing long snapper Alex Matheson to the practice squad in order to create some competition at the position.”
St. Louis will now have to search for a new long snapper for the 2024 season, with the signing of Matheson to Los Angeles.

Just weeks after signing back to the Battlehawks, DB Nate Meadors is on his way to the NFL again. Meadors spent the 2023 season in the XFL with St. Louis, starting in eight of nine games played.
Nate racked up 37 tackles and two interceptions this year, making an impact in the secondary. St. Louis boasted some of the top defenders in the XFL, and Meadors proved himself as one of those prospects.
