It’s a tough time of year for a team like the Cowboys to keep their focus. Some players are celebrating a Pro Bowl nod while others are dealing with not getting chosen. Some are closing in on personal records, some will be facing questions about new contracts, and some will be testing the water of free agency very soon. But there’s still one more regular-season game to be played, and winning it is going to be of significance as the team looks ahead to its ulitmate goal, so we’ll also look ahead to Week 18 in Washington.

Lamb told reporters that he’d like to be the highest-paid receiver in the game once his new contract is negotiated. “Ideally, yeah, for sure,” Lamb said. But he stressed that the only focus right now is helping his team win a Super Bowl. “After that, then we’ll start talking.” Technically, though, contract talks could start immediately after the final game of the regular season. Or Dallas could exercise his fifth-year option in 2024 and a franchise tag after that.
Though the Cowboys hope they have plenty of football still to play, offseason planning is practically here for many teams. Looking ahead to 2024 free agency, three current Dallas players make this early list of the top names who will be hitting the market. Tyron Smith, Tony Pollard, and Stephon Gilmore are all set to hit free agency this offseason.
