Week 18 Injury Report: Seahawks at Cardinals

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks returned to the practice field in preparation for their regular season finale versus the Cardinals and were missing seven players due to injury. Among the seven players missing from Wednesday’s practice were three offensive linemen including starters Abraham Lucas and Evan Brown. Lucas made his return from injured reserve for the Week 13 game in Dallas and has started every game since, but he was forced to exit the Week 17 loss to the Steelers because of the same injured knee. Lucas was unable to return to the Pittsburgh game and there is a chance that he will be unable to return this week.

“Abe’s knee is really bothering him. It’s going to be hard for him,” said head coach Pete Carroll. “We don’t have any designations on it yet, but he just couldn’t find the power. He just got worn down a little bit in the time he’s played over the last month, and he couldn’t find it in this game, so we had to get him out of there.”

While the unit is dealing with a plethora of injuries, they could be very close to getting guard Phil Haynes back as he returned from practice this week after spending the last month on injured reserve with a calf injury. Haynes had been fighting through the injury for most of the season before being sent to IR but is making good progress towards returning to game action.

“Phil is going to practice today and get some work, and we’ll see what happens,” coach Carroll said. “It’s his first week back. He’s done a lot of work with the trainers and strength and conditioning, but we’ve got to see how he does. But it’s positive, I know he’s very upbeat about wanting to be part of this week.”

Kenneth Walker III didn’t practice today due to the shoulder injury that has been bothering him for the past few weeks. Despite not practicing, coach Carroll feels good about Walker making it through the week. “He looked very good today. He looked much better than he did Wednesday of last week in this walkthrough here, he was flying around pretty good, so that’s a really good sign,” said coach Carroll.

After missing the Week 17 game vs. Pittsburgh, Jordyn Brooks was limited in Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury. Brooks had been playing through his ankle problems but was forced to exit the Christmas Eve…
