The Rams’ Wild Card Round opponent is set.
Los Angeles will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions on Super Wild Card Weekend. The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. pacific time on Sunday, January 14 on NBC, Peacock and Universo.
“Exciting,” Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said postgame. “Exciting for this team just to get to where we are at right now, to be honest with you. So many people out there didn’t think we’d get to this point, and the ability to get to this point is a true testament to everybody in this locker room – coaches, everybody. It’s awesome.”
Drafted No. 1 overall by the Lions in 2009 and playing 12 seasons in Detroit, it will be Stafford’s first time facing his former team there. The Rams previously faced the Lions at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. during the 2021 season.
“The opportunity happens to be in Detroit, which is fun for me on a personal level,” Stafford said. “We got some other guys on our team that are from the city too, which is really cool. I know it’s gonna be rocking there. Haven’t had a playoff game there in about 30 years or whatever it is, so it will be a great atmosphere, it will be a tough task for us, but definitely excited.”
