Safety Damar Hamlin has also been named as a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year.
Hamlin made an incredible comeback to the NFL after going into cardiac arrest and needing to be resuscitated on the field during the 2022 season when the Buffalo played Cincinnati on January 2.
The safety made miraculous improvements in the first few months of his recovery. By the time training camp came around, Hamlin was back on the field practicing with his teammates. The Pittsburgh product played in five games for Buffalo this season.
Hamlin, Bills and Bengals training and medical staffs and the staff at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center were recognized at last year’s NFL Honors.
Hamlin also earned the NFLPA’s Alan Page Community Award last year, which goes to a player who goes above and beyond to perform community service in his hometown and team city. Hamlin’s foundation, Chasing M’s received a $100,000 donation from the NFLPA.
