Former Florida Gator and Kansas City wide receiver Kadarius Toney will miss Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
Toney hasn’t played since Week 15 due to a lingering hip injury, but the Chiefs added “personal reasons” as an extra explanation for his absence. As one may expect, the internet had a field day with that sort of language, piling on a player that’s already been made the butt of the joke for consistently dropping the ball.
It hasn’t been a banner year for the former Gator by any means, but Pro Football Focus only has him on the hook for four drops over 37 targets. Many expect this to be the end of Toney’s run with the Chiefs, and they aren’t letting him go out graciously.
Here’s the best Twitter could cook up.
Toney Out
We have activated Practice Squad players NT Mike Pennel and CB Keith Taylor via Standard Elevation.
WR Kadarius Toney is now OUT for tomorrow’s game (personal/hip).

When did it all go wrong?
#Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney has been ruled out (personal/hip) for the AFC title game. Toney will miss his sixth consecutive game. He hasn’t played in a game since popping up a pass for an INT in Week 15, which led to this moment: pic.twitter.com/QMgpPIqyjR

Well that’s cold
Kadarius Toney has dropped more balls than puberty, who the hell cares if he misses a game? I get stressed when he ENTERS the game.
