Lost in all of the UFL buzz yesterday was a key signing for the St. Louis Battlehawks. RB Wayne Gallman has joined the team, bringing depth to a room that desperately needed it.

With the news of Max Borghi departing from the UFL – as he is “retiring” from football – St. Louis needed a replacement. The team still hasn’t re-signed RB Brian Hill who started for the squad last year. Now, Gallman will come to training camp with the intention of winning the starting job, something he has quite a bit of familiarity with.
Wayne Gallman had an outstanding college career at Clemson from 2013-2016. He won a Championship with the team, posting 3,410 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns across that span. Additionally, he added 492 receiving yards to his total tally.

This led to Gallman being selected by the New York Giants in the 4th round of the 2017 NFL draft. Wayne came into the NFL as a highly sought after prospect, and earned minutes in New York early on in his career. In his rookie season, he finished with 476 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Gallman saw a lot of quality time during the 2020 season, where he started in 10 of 15 games played. That year he registered 682 rushing yards, and six touchdowns.
