Indianapolis Colts’ Jim Irsay says he’s ‘on the mend’

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay broke his silence Tuesday, tweeting out an update after reports of emergency health issues emerged in January.

Irsay, who hasn’t been seen publicly since December, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s “on the mend” and that he’s grateful for the support and well wishes.

While other members of the Colts organization have access to Irsay’s account on X, it was reported by ESPN’s Stephen Holder that it was Irsay who sent this post Tuesday afternoon.

In January, the Colts released a statement that Irsay was battling a severe respiratory illness. General manager Chris Ballard followed that up at his end-of-season press conference only saying that Irsay was stable.

On Dec. 8, it was reported that emergency services were sent to Irsay’s house in what was described by the responders as a suspected overdose.

It’s unclear what the future holds for Irsay’s involvement moving forward, but this is a positive update as it appears he’s progressing through the health issues.
