By the Numbers: Football Notes As Spring Ball Approaches

Many new faces will be on the roster. New locations are on the schedule. We welcome BYU back to the Valley. We go back to Stillwater. Much to read and write about as the Sun Devils enter spring of 2024. Below are a bunch of numbers, links notes and nuggets on the players, staff and home schedule as we get rolling.

QUARTERBACKS

Jaden Rashad, who played as a freshman last but did end up getting a redshirt year, returns as does many-game starter Trenton Bourguet. Michigan State transfer Sam Leavitt is in the mix as well.

EVERYONE LOVED THIS DUDE

Cam Skattebo accounted for 11 touchdowns in 2023, including nine rushing, one receiving, and one passing.

NEARLY 20 (AS IN ALUMS LEADING THEIR SCHOOLS)

Kenny Dillingham is one of nearly 20 alums serving as head football coach at their school. He joins Brent Key (Georgia Tech), Jeff Brohm (Louisville), Mario Cristobal (Miami), Kalani Sitake (BYU), Mike Gundy (Oklahoma State), DeShaun Foster (UCLA), Tony Sanchez (New Mexico State), Mike Neu (Ball State), Jeff Tedford (Fresno State), Timmy Chang (Hawaii), Trent Bray (Oregon State), Kirby Smart (Georgia), Clark Lea (Vanderbilt), Shawn Clark (Appalachian State) and Michael Desormeaux (Louisiana).

ASU sold out Mountain America Stadium two games in a row in 2023 (USC and Colorado). This is the first time the stadium has been sold out multiple games in a row since 2007.
