The play of ultra-talented will determine, last but not least, Texas A&M’s 2024 season but still somewhat unproven quarterback Conner Weigman.
After playing in just three and a half games last season due to a lower-body injury, no one can doubt this young man’s ability, and even though his starting job isn’t 100% secure under the new coaching staff, I’d place my bet at 90 or so percent.
Even though he limited play, Weigman finished the 2023 season with 979 passing yards, 8 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, including his memorable 5 touchdown performance in the Aggie’s season-opening win vs. New Mexico.
While some fans may be worried about how Weigman will be used in Collin Klein’s offense, which included many quarterback runs during his time at Kansas State, remember what he was working with compared to the high-end athletes now at his disposal. While Weigman will use his legs more often, expect a wide-open passing attack and a whole lot of yards through the air.
