Stats: 17 starts, 1,133 snaps played, 7 penalties, 7 sacks allowed, 3 hits, 41 hurries, 51 pressures
The Bears drafted Wright with the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and he was an immediate starter from Day 1. Wright established himself as an integral piece of Chicago’s offensive line during his rookie season, starting all 17 games. While he fell short of playing 100 percent of snaps, he only missed five snaps when he injured his shoulder against the Raiders in Week 7. Wright was the only offensive lineman who started every game for Chicago — and he played 99.56 percent of snaps, which was the most of any Bears player on offense and defense.
Wright held his own against some of the game’s top pass rushers, and he even bullied some noteworthy names, and he thrived as a run blocker. While Wright had his typical rookie struggles, there’s no doubt Chicago made the right decision to draft him at No. 10. He’ll improve with more experience and he flashed the potential to be a long-term answer at right tackle. Wright was named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team, joining teammate Braxton Jones, who earned the honor the previous year.
