QB AJ McCarron Returns To St. Louis Battlehawks For 2024

St. Louis, QB1 is back in town. AJ McCarron is officially re-signing with the St. Louis Battlehawks, after a long awaited return that took up almost the entire UFL offseason.

It’s been a long time coming for the Battlehawks and their fanbase to finally have the assurance that their signal caller would play this year. For several months, Nick Tiano and Manny Wilkins remained as the only quarterbacks on the roster.

Now, St. Louis will be heading into training camp with two quarterbacks (having released Tiano), as AJ McCarron comes into play as the clear favorite to start.

McCarron started in nine games for the Battlehawks during the 2023 XFL season. He was clearly one of the top quarterbacks in the league, throwing for 2,150 yards and 24 touchdowns, completing 68% of his pass attempts. He only tossed six interceptions, being responsible with the football all year long.

Despite their 7-3 record, St. Louis failed to make the postseason – but they went out with a bang in week ten. McCarron threw for an unbelievable 420 yards and six touchdowns against Orlando.
