DURHAM – Duke graduate student punter Porter Wilson has been invited to participate at the 2024 NFL Specialists Showcase as part of the NFL Combine, set for March 2-4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Wilson, a 6-5, 231-pound punter from Akron, Ohio, was tabbed an All-America selection and a First Team All-ACC recipient last season after registering 54 total punts for 2,519 yards for an average of 46.65 yards per punt. He was the only punter in the ACC with more than 2,500 punting yards and 20-plus kicks inside the 20 with 20-plus boots of 50-plus yards. Wilson ranked first in the ACC and ninth nationally in punting, a mark that set Duke’s program record for punting average in a single season, and was a significant reason as to why Duke ranked second nationally in net punting (43.51). Additionally, he was named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award and was selected to the “Ray’s 8” list on three separate occasions last season, including being tabbed the punter of the week for week 10.
