Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence 25-to-1 to win award

Jaguars focused on ‘keeping sense of urgency’ despite AFC South lead

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence didn’t come close to being a contender in the MVP race in 2023. Oddsmakers aren’t too convinced he’ll change that in 2024.

Lawrence is listed by BetMGM at +2500 (25-to-1 odds) to be the MVP of the 2024 season. While that has him tied with the Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa and New York Jets’ Aaron Rodgers for the 12th best odds in the NFL, it’s a drop from his odds at this time a year ago.

In February 2023, Lawrence opened at +1400 (14-to-1) to be the MVP. The eventual winner of the award, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, was +1600 (16-to-1) at the time.

In his second NFL season, Lawrence finished seventh in MVP voting after throwing for 4,113 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in the 2022 season. He didn’t receive any votes this year after finishing with 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

The Jaguars lost five of their last six games to narrowly miss the postseason after starting the year 8-3. Lawrence struggled through several injuries late in the year, but missed only one game.
