With four commitments in Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class, head coach Mike Elko and his staff have yet to land a defensive lineman. Still, plenty of talent remains on the Aggies’ radar, including 4-star DL DJ Sanders out of Bellville, Texas.
A current favorite to land with the program, Sanders is an absolute unit, standing at 6-4 and weight a solid 290 pounds, playing on the outside at defensive end for a majority of his high school career, racking up 115 tackles, 28(!) tackles for loss, and 15 sacks during his 2023 junior season.
While On3’s Sam Spiegelman’s prediction for Sanders to land with the Aggies is trustworthy, TexAgs’ Ryan Brauninger recently reported that the incoming senior has constantly contacted Elko and several staff members. At the same time, he also noted that Sanders would likely make his way back to College Station during spring practices.
Highly coveted Bellville DT DJ Sanders said he hears from Mike Elko and multiple members of the A&M staff each and every week.

According to 247Sports Composite, Sanders is currently positioned as the 16th-ranked defensive lineman in the country and the 25th-ranked player in the 2025 recruiting class.
