With an average attendance of 68,934 in 2023, the Cleveland Browns topped the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC North crown in packing their stadium.
In a year where head coach Kevin Stefanski won his second NFL Coach of the Year Award, defensive end Myles Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year, and quarterback Joe Flacco led the Browns on a magical late-season run, there was a ton of excitement to follow in Cleveland in 2023.
However, even if the Browns went 0-16 again, fans would still have turned out to Cleveland Browns Stadium in numbers.
According to ESPN, the Bengals had the lowest average attendance in the division, checking in at an average of 67,355. The Steelers were just ahead of them with an average attendance of 67,439. Then Art Modell’s Baltimore Ravens fell in second in the AFC North in average attendance a year ago at 68,866.
As the Browns (knock on wood) continue on their winning ways, now finding the playoffs in two of the last four years, that number has a chance to continue to grow. Who knows? If a dome gets built in Brook Park as the rumors continue to swirl, those winter months may see an uptick in attendance as well.
