Georgia football offers 4-star WR, Ohio State commit Jayvan Boggs

Georgia football has extended a scholarship offer to 2025 four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, who’s currently committed to Ohio State. Boggs committed to the Buckeyes in October.

Boggs (6-foot-, 188 pounds), out of Cocoa, Fla., is rated as the No. 24 wide receiver, the No. 28 player in the state of Florida and the No. 196 recruit overall in his class, per 247Sports Composite. The Cocoa High School star currently holds over 20 offers.

Boggs’ junior season earned him Mr. Football honors in the state of Florida in 2023. HisΒ 93 catches, 1,500 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns are single-season school records.

Boggs’ offer from UGA is notable following the addition of new wide receivers coach James Coley this week. Coley previously coached Georgia wideouts from 2016-2019. He takes over for Byran McClendon, who recently left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Coley and the Georgia staff will battle for Bogg’s commitment against Ohio State’s Brian Hartline, who’s widely considered one of the top recruiters in the country. Both Coley and Hartline have strong connections to the state of Florida.
