The New England Patriots have some big decisions to make in free agency, and most of those decisions pertain to their own players.
Every player on the current roster are remnants of the Bill Belichick era, which makes predicting their offseason fates significantly more challenging. Patriots executive Eliot Wolf and coach Jerod Mayo will have their own ideas, likes and dislikes when running the football team. So don’t expect them to be tethered to past decisions from a figurehead that’s no longer there.
However, it’s also important to keep in mind that not everything was bad with the previous roster. It’ll fall on Wolf and Mayo to integrate the good pieces with their vision for the team as a whole. That could mean a break-up with some of the more prominent Patriots players over the years.
Today, we’re predicting who stays and goes in a long list of notable free agents for the Patriots in 2024.

The Patriots would love to keep Hunter Henry, but the two sides are reportedly “far apart” in contract talks. That doesn’t bode well for an agreement coming together on the open market, where Henry should draw interest from other teams. New England might be better off re-signing Pharaoh Brown as their blocking tight end and going after a cheaper bridge receiving option at the position.

Jalen Reagor came on strong for the Patriots on special teams late in the season, and he also got to work in at receiver with the team dealing with a multitude of injuries. The former first-round draft pick could serve the new coaching staff well as a gadget option with great special teams utility.
