Spring football QB room preview

Spring football is upon us, as the 2024 college football season is just five months away. This month’s tune-up will provide a glimpse into what’s to come for Texas A&M and new head coach Mike Elko. While it may still feel like Jimbo Fisher will pop out of nowhere, I can assure you that the new regime has been hard at work, assembling what looks to be a borderline elite roster on both sides of the ball.

For a closer look at how things might shake out, here is the projected QB depth chart ahead of Texas A&M’s spring football session.

Marblehead quarterback Miles O’Neill attempts to avoid a tackle by Aris Xerras of Danvers during a football game at Danvers High School on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022. Marblehead football defeated Danvers, 27-7.

Freshman quarterback Miles O’Neill is entering the program with plenty of hype, mainly due to his NFL arm, which has caught the attention of every Aggie fan who’s watched his recent throwing videos. Coming into the program as a borderline 4-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, O’Neill threw for 2,181 yards for 23 touchdowns and just four interceptions during his senior season at the Hun School in Massachusetts.

While O’Neil’s potential is enormous, consider the 2024 season a learning year with a potential redshirt opportunity awaiting.
