Penn State is developing a bit of a track record for signing some super-talented running backs during the course of James Franklin’s career. That trend looks to be continuing in the Class of 2025 with the commitment of Kiandre Barker, a four-star running back who has been a star on the high schools football fields in Arkansas, Texas, and soon Florida.
Barker gave his verbal commitment to Penn State in April 2023 and has been locked in with the Nittany Lions ever since. He will be set to play one more year of high school football in Florida with Miami Central after moving from Texas. He will join future Penn State teammate Bekkem Kritza, who previously announced his transfer to Miami Central, where he started his high school career.
As a result, some of the recruiting outlets have yet to update his in-state recruiting rankings accordingly, but Barker is a consensus four-star recruit. He will be set to join the Nittany Lions just in time to be in the mix to be handed off the torch from Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen if all goes according to plan.
