For each and every player on Colorado football’s revamped roster, the next month-plus of spring practices are critical. Head coach Deion Sanders has high expectations for the Buffs next season and the necessary work to achieve those goals is already underway.
During Coach Prime’s second spring in Boulder, new coordinators Pat Shurmur and Robert Livington will continue examining Colorado’s strengths while a slew of new players will be learning their new roles as well.
The Buffs will hold their first spring practice on March 18. They’ll then conclude camp on April 27 with another highly-anticipated spring game.
Below are five players to watch entering Colorado’s 2024 spring camp:
OL Tyler Brown

If he had received a transfer waiver, Tyler Brown probably would’ve started on Colorado’s offensive line last season. The former Jackson State transfer is now available, but he’ll have to compete with several intriguing newcomers.
CB Cormani McClain

This was an easy pick considering how much talent Cormani McClain owns. A former five-star recruit, McClain had a rocky true freshman season, playing in only nine games with four starts. Dominating his first spring practice season at the college level will be key for McClain to prove he’s ready to be a full-time starter this fall.
RB Alton McCaskill IV

Syndication: The Register Guard
In Alton McCaskill IV’s first season back after tearing his ACL at Houston, he received only 14 carries. This spring will be crucial for McCaskill to show that he’s fully healthy and ready to lead Colorado’s running backs room next season.

I’m looking forward to seeing how former Washington transfer Sav’ell Smalls handles switching positions…
