Thomas Morstead is back. The Jets have secured their punter and kicker to continue their special teams stability.
The Jets re-signed Morstead to a two-year deal worth $5 million per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
Morstead is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, averaging almost 49 yards per punt on 99 punts. The 48.8 average is the second-best for Morstead behind his 50.1 in 2012.
The 38-year-old will enter his second full season with the Jets. He also spent half of the 2021 season with the Jets while also spending time in Atlanta.
Morstead hinted at news coming at 4:01pm Wednesday but news broke a little less than an hour before.

Morstead kept the Jets in plenty of games during 2023 and one could argue that the Jets don’t even get to seven wins without him. Morstead was a huge piece for the Jets and he will continue to be for the next two years.
