Pair of Bulldogs out for Georgia football’s pro day

Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers and right tackle Amarius Mims are both reportedly out for Georgia’s pro day on March 13. Bowers and Mims, who are both projected as first-round picks, have hamstring injuries that will prevent them from participating in the Bulldogs’ annual pro day.

Mims injured his hamstring running in the NFL combine a couple of weeks ago. It is unclear when Bowers hurt his hamstring, but it was likely in preparation for April’s NFL draft. Bowers missed the Orange Bowl against Florida State after aggravating his ankle in the SEC championship game against Alabama.

Numerous NFL scouts and executives are still expected to be present for Georgia’s pro day. Both Bowers and Mims are excellent athletes, so it is unfortunate that they aren’t healthy enough to workout and perform athletic tests in front of draft scouts.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid reports that Bowers and Mims will both workout in front of NFL teams on April 10. The 2024 NFL draft will be held April 25-27 in Detroit, Michigan.
