The New England Patriots and cornerback J. C. Jackson reportedly have mutual interest in a reunion, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Jackson was cut on March 1, which freed up $10 million in salary cap space at the time.
He tallied 25 total tackles and six pass deflections in eight games with New England. He began his career with the Patriots in 2018 as an undrafted rookie free agent. His best season came in 2021, when he was named to the All-Pro second-team, as well as getting a Pro Bowl nod that year.
The #Patriots and cornerback J.C. Jackson have mutual interest in a return despite his March 1 release, per source. Could be a down-the-line development for the player and team, but something to keep in mind as New England’s cornerback outlook shapes up this offseason

A potential reunion between the two sides is intriguing given the struggles Jackson had both on and off the field last season. At the very least, his return would give New England more veteran secondary depth at a position where they need as many bodies as possible.
