St. Louis Battlehawks Add Channing Stribling, Waive Mykael Wright

The St. Louis Battlehawks made a key change in their secondary this weekend. Former All-USFL DB Channing Stribling has been added to the roster, in the wake of Mykael Wright’s release.

This is pretty big news for St. Louis, who continues to revamp their secondary. Channing Stribling was the top cornerback in the USFL in 2022, putting on a show with 16 tackles, a sack, and a league leading seven interceptions.

After that 2022 campaign, Stribling earned All-USFL honors, serving as a key piece to the Philadelphia Stars Championship run. This led to an NFL stint with the Washington Commanders during the 2022 preseason.

Following his release from Washington, Stribling had the opportunity to join the XFL. He was drafted – by these same Battlehawks – during their draft in 2022. However, he opted to return to the Stars instead.

In 2023, Channing Stribling dealt with injuries throughout much of the year, which hampered his season. He finished with 13 tackles and an interception, but he wasn’t able to get into a groove by any means, with his health being a major factor.
